Lets change the world. The Department of Oncology Research at
Amgen, Thousand Oaks is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to
contribute to the discovery and validation of novel oncology
targets with the goal of supporting the development of Amgens next
generation of innovative small-molecule therapeutics. In this vital
role you will be an integral member of a dynamic research team,
with an opportunity to work collaboratively with cross functional
teams within Amgens Discovery Research organization. The successful
candidate is expected to make major scientific laboratory-based
contributions to the group goals, present their results in both
internal and external forums, and contribute data and participate
in the writing of manuscripts for publication. Specific
responsibilities include independently planning and performing
laboratory experiments, analyzing data, and communicating results
in team meetings. Assay development and routine screening of early-
stage drug development candidates may be required. This is an
on-site position which will entail primarily laboratory-based work.

dynamic professional we seek is a scientist with these
qualifications. Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree OR Masters
degree and 2 years of relevant laboratory experience OR Bachelors
degree and 4 years of relevant laboratory experience. Preferred
Qualifications: Extensive training in cancer biology or a related
field. A strong skillset of standard cell and molecular biology
experimental design and techniques (e.g. mammalian cell culture,
western blotting/Jess immunofluorescence, qPCR, flow cytometry,
etc). Experience with high-throughput assays (e.g. CTG, NanoBit,
AlphaLISA). Experience with modern techniques for assaying gene
function (e.g. RNAi and CRISPR approaches), especially cell line
engineering and utilization. Familiarity with genomic data analysis
suites (DepMap, cBioPortal, OmicSoft). Experience in target
identification and validation or supporting the early stages of
drug discovery. A track record of independent critical thinking and
scientific achievement, supported by publications, patents, and/or
significant contributions to a drug discovery program. What you can

way. The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S.
(excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on
several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills,
experience, and qualifications. In addition to the base salary,
