Position Details:
--- Title: Power Plant Technician
--- Location: Stanton, CA
--- Shift: M-F 7a-3:30p
--- Compensation: $37 - $40/hr

Position Description: Responsibilities include:
Maintain and control processes for equipment such as Gas Turbines,
Air and Gas Compressors, Generators, Motors, pumps, Emissions
Monitors, Reverse Osmosis Units, Demineralizers, for the purpose of
providing peaking power into the state of California power
grid.
--- Operate, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot/repair plant
instrumentation, control devices/electrical equipment.
--- Operate generation units (Gas Turbine Generator), associated
auxiliary equipment.
--- Perform routine maintenance repairs on all equipment.
--- Repair and tune various types of controllers associated with
process instrumentation.
--- Repair and calibrate pneumatic and electric actuated control
devices.
--- Troubleshoot equipment failures, analyze process conditions and
impacts.
--- Adjust manual controls or override automatic controls to bring
equipment into recommended or prescribed operating ranges, switch
to backup equipment or systems, or to shut down equipment.
--- Open and close valves for proper system operation and circuit
breakers for proper electrical isolation.
--- Record operation and maintenance actions taken and initiate
purchase orders for spare/replacement parts.
--- Prepare legible and understandable work orders for required
preventative and corrective maintenance.
Requirements:
--- HS Diploma/GED. Associate's or equivalent from two-year
college/technical school preferred; or 2 to 3 years related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
and experience.
--- 5+ years military experience in power plant maintenance (Navy
GSMs, MMs with steam plant experience, Navy Nuclear plant
operators)
--- Read and interpret documents, write routine reports and
correspondence.
--- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or
employees of organization.
--- Strong mathematical skills, compute rate, ratio, and percent
and draw and interpret bar graphs.
--- Solve practical problems and interpret a variety of
instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule
form.
