Summary:
The Director of Critical Care Services is part of the hospital
administrative team and assists with the organization, direction,
management and evaluation of patient care services for the Critical
Care Service areas.
Responsible for the clinical, operational and financial management
of the Critical Care departments.
Interpret policies, procedures, standards, and regulations as is
appropriate to personnel, medical staff, patients, and public.
Budgetary or fiscal accountability and is responsible 24 hours a
day for the ongoing effective operation of units.
Oversees the units operation to ensure the safe and efficient
delivery of care and to maximize patient, physician, and employee
satisfaction.
Frequent contact with employees, physicians, customers, community
individuals and volunteers.
Develop and review monitoring activities related to the quality of
nursing care provided.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Must have strong knowledge of all aspects of Critical Care Services
and related areas.
Performs responsibilities in accordance with hospital goals,
objectives, policies and procedures.
Experience:
5-7 years acute care nursing experience required
3-5 years Critical Care-ICU nursing experience required
2+ years management experience required
3years continuous clinical experience in a clinical-acute care
setting preferred.
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Nursing required
Master's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare related field highly
preferred
Certifications - Licensure:
State Registered Nurse (RN) License
Basic Life Support (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain
current.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA) certificate upon hire and
maintain current.
Acute Critical Care Nursing Certification (CCRN) preferred
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA) certificate upon hire and
maintain current.
Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS) preferred
Special Skills:
Must be able to work under deadlines and utilize independent
decision making skills in a wide variety of situations
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to manage and inspire a team
Computer skills
