Human Resources Manager, Culver CitySummary:Responsible for performing a wide variety of skilled human resources duties to support our Suicide Prevention Center (SPC), including but limited to employee relations, training & development, compliance, and employee benefits. The position will interface with employees, government agencies and educational institutions.Primary Duties:Employee Relations:Counsels and advises supervisors and employees on Agency human resources policy and employment laws.Assists in the resolution of employee complaints; counsels employees on employment related matters.Monitors employee counseling and corrective action activities; counsel's managers and supervisors in resolving employee performance problems and making staff decisions such as termination of employment.Advises management of major employee problems and Didi Hirsch's liability, as appropriate.Conducts investigations related to employee complaints/problems and documents these as appropriateAssists with selection and fielding of employee satisfaction and engagement surveys; assists with analysis of survey results.Analyzes exit interviews, summarizes findings, and identifies trends and concernsTraining & Development:Collaborates with Sr. Leadership Team in the planning, design, implementation and evaluation of the Agency's professional training and development programs which includes management and leadership development. Collaborates with senior management to identify training needs.Source and assist with the implementation of agency-wide trainingsCollaborate with managers to evaluate the effectiveness of trainings as it relates to performanceProvides coaching to supervisors and managers on assessing employee performance, administering constructive feedback; counsel managers and supervisors in resolving employee performance problems and making staff decisions such as termination of employment.Provides direction to management on appropriate use of coaching and teambuilding techniques that promote organizational goals and support employee engagement, satisfaction and retentionAssists in the development and/or presentation of cultural diversity and inclusion training/educationCompliance/Safety/Wellness:Develops and maintains working knowledge of labor and related laws, industry trends, and effective human resources practices through participation in seminars and classes, membership in professional organizations, reading and contacts in the industry; consults with legal counsel as necessary.Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issuesParticipates in agency's safety and health committees.Promotes safety and health awareness through the agency's sharepoint, newsletters and specific training programs. Benefits:Serves as back up to Benefits Specialist as neededLOABenefit administrationNew Hire OrientationWorkers compensation administrationSupervisory Responsibility:The incumbent in this position has supervisory responsibility of 1 3 staff.Position Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, or a related field required; a combination of HR certification, education and work experience equivalent to the degree may be considered.Minimum of five years working in a Human Resources Business Partner capacity or related experienceA working knowledge of all human resource activities and associated state and federal regulations (e.G. Wage and Hour laws, Fair Labor Standards Act, Equal Employment regulations, CAL-OSHA, Workers' Compensation, American with Disabilities Act, FMLA, CFRA, etc.).The ability to implement new human resource programs designed to meet organization objectives (e.G. retention, employee services, etc.)Effective oral and written communications skills sufficient to write comprehensive reports and policies, and to successfully interface with all levels of management and staff.Basic accounting and general math skills sufficient to analyze data, and prepare associated reports.Personal computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and HRIS; familiarity with UltiPro is a plus.The analytical skills, experience and good judgment to make decisions within policies.A commitment to team objectives and Didi Hirsch philosophies.Ability to adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge.Current California driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the Agency's insurance carrier.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:SHRM Certification
