Job Description:
Our longstanding manufacturing & distribution client located in
Long Beach is seeking a Controller to manage the daily operational
accounting functions as well as the month-end close process and
related reporting. The Controller will play a hands-on role and
manage the accounting staff. For this role, the Controller will be
responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Hands-on
involvement and oversight of the daily and month-end accounting
operations while managing, developing, and leading the accounting
staff Actively participate in all aspects of the full accounting
cycle and provide financial statements and related analysis for
senior management Assist with operation’s budgeting and forecasting
function and partner with senior management for various financial
reporting and analysis Manage or assist in other aspects of the
operations including payroll, inventory, compliance, and human
resources Lead and/or participate in organizational goals and
departmental projects and initiatives that drive process
improvement within the accounting function The qualified Controller
must possess the following: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or
Finance Strong knowledge and/or work experience ideally within the
manufacturing and distribution industry The ability to work
hands-on in the details of the accounting records, lead, develop,
and train accounting staff, and collaborate with others for
financial reporting and analysis purposes Mindset to leverage
existing ERP system to automate and improve accounting efficiencies
and reduce manual processes – experience with MS Dynamics product
