responsibilities Job Details Job Details: We are looking for a
dynamic and experienced Special Assets Collections Officer to join
our Accounting and Finance team. The successful candidate will play
a pivotal role in managing the collection of special assets,
including but not limited to SBA 504 loans, mortgages,
foreclosures, bankruptcies, and probates. This role offers an
exciting opportunity to leverage your skills and experience in a
challenging yet rewarding environment. You will be working closely
with various departments, ensuring the effective and efficient
recovery of assets while minimizing losses. If you are a proactive,
detail-oriented professional with a knack for problem-solving, this
role is for you. Responsibilities: 1. Manage a portfolio of special
assets, including SBA 504 loans, mortgages, foreclosures,
bankruptcies, and probates. 2. Develop and implement effective
collection strategies to maximize recoveries and minimize losses.
3. Coordinate with legal counsel and other departments on
foreclosure and bankruptcy cases. 4. Conduct detailed financial
analysis to assess the borrower's ability to repay and determine
the most appropriate recovery strategy. 5. Negotiate payment
arrangements with borrowers in default, considering their financial
circumstances and the bank's recovery objectives. 6. Prepare
detailed reports on collection activities and asset status for
senior management. 7. Stay updated with changes in laws and
regulations related to collections, foreclosures, and bankruptcies.
8. Provide guidance and training to junior staff members on
collections and recovery procedures. Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's
degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a
related field. 2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in collections,
banking, or a related role. 3. Proven experience in managing SBA
504 loans, mortgages, foreclosures, bankruptcies, and probates. 4.
Strong understanding of collections laws and regulations, including
the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. 5. Excellent negotiation
and conflict resolution skills. 6. Strong analytical skills, with
the ability to conduct detailed financial analysis and make sound
decisions. 7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced
Excel skills. 8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial
information. 9. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to
manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. 10. High level of
integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive
